The franchise of Masters of the Universe (MOTU) is celebrating its 40th anniversary this week.

To make the week memorable, it wishes to launch the franchise’s comic characters in digital formats i.e. Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) through Mattel – a famous toy-producing entity.

NFTs are set to hit the stage on 9th November featuring the franchise’s famous characters namely He-Man, Tri-Klops, and alike with the collaboration of Cryptoys.

MOTU Launching NFTs

A famous toy-producing NASDAQ-listed company called Mattel announced on 12th October 2022 that it has partnered with the Masters of the Universe (MOTU) franchise.

It has been informed that Mattel has taken up the project of introducing MOTU’s characters in a digital collection comprised of NFTs.

Limited Edition Collectibles

The digital collection will be a ‘limited edition collection and shall be launched in celebration of the franchise’s 40th anniversary.

The globally famed characters of the franchise include He-Man, Tri-Klops, She-Ra, Cringer (Battle Cat), Evil-Lyn, Skeletor, Man-At-Arms, Beast-Man, and Orko.

It was in the year 1981 when for the first time the franchise launched its action figures into the market.

Later on, after two years in 1983, the franchise was able to launch cartoon series called ‘He-Man’, which was an instant hit.

Thereafter, a movie too was produced in the 90s but since then it stopped making cartoons and films and rather focused on producing action figures and toys.

Collaboration with Cryptoys

The announcement further revealed that MOTU’s NFT collection shall be firstly launched on 9th November and several drops shall take place until January next year.

For the purposes of developing digital collections and then comprising NFTs, the franchise’s toy-producing company Mattel has partnered with Cryptoys.

High Hopes from the Project

Mike DeLaet, who is the head of digital gaming at Mattel, stated that MOTU’s consumer awareness remains at a high level. He mentioned they are expecting a huge turnover with regard to the NFTs.

He further said that Mattel is eager to provide a unique experience of its famous characters to the fans irrespective of their ages.

For Fans of Every Age

In a further statement, Cryptoys informed that each NFT collection that will be dropped shall comprise at least ten thousand limited edition digital toys.

Furthermore, unique rarity levels shall also be attached to a few collectibles by introducing several skins and unique weapons.

It may however be noted that this isn’t the first collection that is going to be introduced by MOTU.

Other Successful Projects

In fact, the franchise’s toy-producing company had earlier launched the famous Hot Wheels NFT Garage line which saw massive fans’ attention.

However, in the recent past, Mattel launched Veefriends NFTs with the collaboration of Crytoys. The project successfully generated funds exceeding US$ 23 Million which brought the two into the global limelight.

Both of them are now regarded as worthy partners in launching successful and profitable projects in the digital sector.
